  • Introduction:(IGAS 2011 International Graphic Arts Show 2011)

    IGAS2007

    IGAS2007

    Words from President

The holding of the International graphic arts Show IGAS 2007 was an enormous success thanks to exhibitions from 550 companies and the attendance of approximately 130,000 individuals from both Japan and overseas. However, the 2008 Lehman Shock that struck the following year produced large waves in the global economy that also had a serious impact on domestic printing industries. As a result of these extremely dire conditions, last year's Japan graphic arts Show JGAS 2009 suffered a reduction in the scope of its operations. However, there are also signs of recovery to be seen . These promising signs include a recent upswing in corporate profits brought about by rising demand among developing countries and efforts by individual businesses to reduce costs.

In the midst of these circumstances, the graphic arts Suppliers Committee will hold IGAS 2011 at Tokyo Big Sight in September 2011. Taking last year's situation into account, we have decided to shorten the length of the upcoming event by one day and hold IGAS 2011 during the six day period from September 16 to 21.

IGAS 2011 will be the third IGAS event to be held since IGAS entered into the ring and began operations as one of the four largest exhibitions of printing equipment in the world. With the aim of making clear the future possibilities that can be brought about through printing , IGAS provides opportunities for active business exchange as well as a centralized stage for the gathering and exhibition of state-of-the-art equipment and technology where progressive, future-oriented solutions can be presented to members of the entire printing industry. IGAS 2011 is a highly anticipated exhibition where attendants from Japan and overseas can witness the actual operation of cutting-edge equipment and build upon those possibilities.

Applications to exhibit at IGAS 2011 are being accepted starting today. The economy is on course for a full recovery by fall of next year, when the exhibition is scheduled to be held. As a result, this event can be thought of as an excellent opportunity to present new products to consumers from both Japan and overseas. We hope that you take advantage of this chance, which comes only once every four years, and eagerly await your early application.

We are looking forward to seeing you soon at Tokyo.
