SIAL Canada is an international tradeshow dedicated to food industry professionals which targets the North American market. Each year, over 530 agrifood exhibitors and 12,000 professionals come together for this uniting event.
History:
In 2001, three parties decide to implement a SIAL specific to the North American market:
‧ The Quebec food Retailers Association (A.D.A.Q.),
‧Agri-food Export Group, Quebec-Canada (formerly the Quebec Agri-food Export Club),
‧The Exposium Group (owner with SOPEXA of SIAL throughout the world).
SIAL Montréal was born form this alliance and was then organised once every two years.
The market, perpetually evolving, required a more frequent event. In 2007, SIAL becomes annual to allow exhibitors and visitors to keep up with the market tendencies and innovations.
In 2009, the tradeshow confirms its national position as well as its importance by changing its SIAL Montréal brand for SIAL Canada.
The 2010 edition confirms the growing success of the trade show, unveils a new destination and marks the beginning of the alternating years between Montreal (even years) and Toronto (odd years).
