    The 7th edition of sweets &snacks China, the successful satellite exhibition of the world famous ISM Cologne, will be held alongside with China Confectionery Culture Festival for the second year. The show will be held in downtown Shanghai at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center (INTEX, Shanghai). 

    sweets & snacks China will be incorporating Sweet & SnackTec China Feature Zone, creating a professional platform for producers and manufacturers of the sweets, confectionery and snack industries to present their products and innovations to the Who-is-Who of the Asian industry.

    What's New in 2010?

    From sweets China to sweets & snacks China
    After six years of sole emphasis on confectionery end products like chocolates, candies, jellies and ice cream which has propelled sweets China to be one of the most important trade fair for the industry in China, the event will now embrace savory snack products like potato chips, salty cookies and crackers to cater to local taste buds. Going forward, sweets China will officially be rebranded as 'sweets & snacks China'. It will open its doors to trade buyers only from 28 to 29 October, and will welcome both trade and public visitors on 30 October.

     

    Shanghai International Exhibition Center (INTEX)
    sweets & snacks China 2010 will be moving to Shanghai International Exhibition Center (INTEX, No. 88 Loushanguan Rd.) in Puxi from 28 to 30 October 2010. The modern, purpose-built venue is easily accessed by metro and quite close to Hongqiao Airport, with hotels of all classes around.

    Admission

    Admission is free for pre-registered trade visitors. Visitors are required to be 18 years and above. Admission for visitors only in business / smart casual attire. The organizers reserve the right to refuse admission as deemed appropriate.

    Sweet & SnackTec Feature Zone:
    Showcasing the Entire Industry Value Chain

    The Sweet & SnackTec Feature Zone is set to remain a fixture in the new concept bringing exhibitors and visitors alike products and perspectives from either end of the industry value chain. From the latest processing equipment; automation, data processing and control technology to packaging and packaging technology as well as the highest quality of raw materials and ingredients for confectionery and snack production, the comprehensive display aims to benefit all attendees.

    Continuing Partnership with Public Event

    Following the success of sweets China 2009, sweets & snacks China 2010 will also be held in conjunction with the China Confectionery Culture Festival, which is a public event owned by China National Confectionery Association (CNCA). sweets & snacks China 2010 will be opened to trade buyers only from 28 to 29 October, and to both trade and public visitors together with China Confectionery Culture Festival on 30 October (Saturday).

    In 2009, the two events attracted an estimated 40,000 public visitors over two days. It offered a wide range of entertainment and activities, as well as tasting and sampling opportunities targeted to engage the local crowd. Foreign and local manufacturers took the opportunity to receive valuable direct feedback from the Chinese end-consumers for existing products, and used it as a launch pad for new items and flavors.

    Airports
    Shanghai has two Airports: Pudong Airport (PVG) for most international arrivals and Hongqiao (SHA) for domestic travel. Please check your ticket or with your travel agent which airport you are departing from or arriving at.

    Pudong Airport is about 30 km away from Shanghai City Center. Travel time by taxi is about 60 minutes, expense approx. RMB 220. Alternatively, the high-speed maglev train will link you to Metro Line 2, by this line you could reach the venue (INTEX) at Loushanguan Rd Station.

    Hongqiao Airport is about 10 km away from Shanghai City Center. Travel time by taxi is about 20 minutes, expense approx. RMB 40.

    When arriving at the airport, avoid drivers who approach you in the terminal or outside the terminal as these are almost always price-gougers, who will ask triple or more the actual price. There is a taxi line just outside the terminal. Make sure the driver is using his meter and keep your invoice for any unexpected situation.

    Shanghai has numerous taxi operators, reliable and recommended are:

    Subways
    For traveling around Shanghai, subway is a speedy, safe, comfortable and convenient means of transportation. Presently, Shanghai has eight subway lines in operation, totaling approximately 225 kilometers, connecting the main tourist attractions, transportation hubs, commercial areas and shopping spots such as the Bund, Nanjing Road, Huaihua Road, People's Square, Shanghai Railway Station and Xujiahui.
