    Highlights

    Hosted Buyers Program

Wine and Gourmet Asia 2010The Hosted Buyers Program was started in 2009 and received very positive feedback from both exhibitors and visitors alike.

Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Hosted Buyers Program will be organized again in 2010, bringing in top buyers from major fine food and beverage, wine and spirits importers and distributors from the Southern China region to meet and explore business opportunities with wine & gourmet Asia exhibitors.

For exhibitors whose products are new to this part of the world, this is a great opportunity for your products to be introduced into the Chinese market to our Hosted Buyers.

    hotel Procurement Program

Wine and Gourmet Asia 2010wine & gourmet Asia is visited by the executive chefs and F&B purchasing departments of major hotels in Macau and Southern China every year. To maximize their attendance and for our exhibitors to meet face-to-face with these top buyers in Macau, we will be organizing a new hotel Procurement Program at wine & gourmet Asia 2010.

Exhibitors can learn about the buying processes and requirements of these major hotels through several seminars as well as arrange a dedicated appointment schedule with the purchasers.

Exhibitors who have already entered the markets will find the hotel Procurement Program useful to update their knowledge of the various processes or to network with your end users – the chefs themselves.

    Strong Supporting Program

Wine and Gourmet Asia 2010The annual supporting events of wine & gourmet Asia are a spectacular highlight and are key visitor draws.

The Opening Ceremony Reception, annual Asian Cocktail Championship, MORS Gold Pin competition which honours the local hospitality professionals, the Macau Culinary Association Pastry Winning Showpiece of intricate food sculptures, a ‘live’ chocolate art demonstration, wine seminars and food tasting events are warmly received by participants and continue to be an integral part of wine & gourmet Asia.

These events are strongly supported by the local and regional industry associations. Exhibitors can take advantage of the supporting events to expand their outreach at wine & gourmet Asia, by providing their products and services to be showcased at these events.

    City of Macau

The Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) is a part of China’s territory. It is located on the Southeast coast of China to the western bank of the Pearl River Delta. Bordering on Guangdong Province, it locates 60km from Hong Kong and 145km from the city of Guangzhou.

The Macau Special Administrative Region has an area of 28.2 sq. km, comprised of the Macau Peninsula (with 8.9 sq. km and connected to Mainland China), the islands of Taipa (6.5 sq. km) and Coloane (7.6 sq. km and the reclaimed area COTAI (5.2 sq. km). The three bridges connecting Macau to Taipa are Nobre de Carvalho (2.5 km long), the Friendship Bridge (4.5 km long) and Sai Van Bridge (2.2 km long). The longest one (Friendship Bridge) leads directly to Macau International Airport located on the Island of Taipa. The Sai Van Bridge, which was opened on 9 January 2005, is the first cable-stayed bridge in Macau. The double deck bridge has six lanes in the upper deck and four in the lower, which will open when a typhoon hits the city. The islands are connected by a causeway which is 2.2 km long.

Besides the Barrier Gate (Portas do Cerco), the visitor can access Mainland China through the COTAI Frontier Post. Immigration and Customs are located in the reclaimed area between the islands of Taipa and Coloane.
